9.1.3 CLI Access

In addition to the web -bas ed GUI, the gateway s upports SSH and Telnet

management for command -line interaction. The CLI login credentials are s hared

with the GUI for adminis trator us ers . To acces s t h e CLI, t y p e “cli” in t h e SSH or

cons ole prompt and login with adminis trator us er credentials.

9.2 SNMP Configuration

Tools > Admin > SNMP

SNMP is an additional management tool that is us eful when multiple routers in a

network are being managed by a central Mas ter s ys tem. When an external SNMP

manager is provided with th is rou ter’s Manag emen t In fo rmatio n Bas e (M IB) file, t h e

manager can u p d ate the rou ter’s hierarchal v a riab les to view o r u p d at e co n figu ratio n

parameters . The router as a managed device has an SNMP agent that allows the MIB

configuration variables to be acces s ed by the Mas ter (the SNMP manager). The

Acces s Control Lis t on the router identifies managers in the network that have read -

only or read-write SNMP credentials . The Traps Lis t outlines the port over which

notifications from this router a re provided to the SNMP community (managers ) and

als o the SNMP version (v1, v2c, v3) for the trap.
