9.8 Dynamic DNS Setup
Tools > Dynamic DNS
Dynamic DNS (DDNS) is an Internet service that allows routers with varying public
IP addres s es to be located us ing Internet domain names . To us e DDNS, you mus t
setup an account with a DDNS prov ider such as DynDNS.org, D-Link DDNS, or
Oray.net.
Each configured W AN can have a different DDNS s ervice if required. Once
configured, the router will update DDNS services changes in the WAN IP addres s s o
that features that are dependent on acces s ing the ro u ter’s W A N v ia FQDN will b e
directed to the correct IP address. When you set up an account with a DDNS service,
the hos t and domain name, us ername, password and wildcard support will be provided
by the account provider.
